Hi, was just wondering how dead this project was.  Glad to see you're trying to start it up again.  Wanted to suggesting moving the project to Essentials rather than a rom hack.  The initial scripting might take some work, but after that it would be a lot easier. I would be glad to help with any scripting, as I have gotten decent at it working on a project of my own.

Game Questions

I have been using http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Characters for a major part of the character research. They have a huge fan base and knowledge base, and have asked the MLP writers and show scriptwriters themselves for names and confirmation. I have changed the characters that were officially named after they were named on this project. I am using the names from their database since everyone else that I have seen uses the same names they do. If you are particularly fond of any of the names that do not match that site please let me know.

With the further expansion of the official characters to draw upon, I have replaced all non official MLP characters with characters from the show. For example I have added the animal companions to the list of characters to use for Ponymon #152 and on. I really wanted to add snowdrop, but she was not in the show. Are there any characters you would like to see added to the list?

I am using upper and lowercase naming to help with condensed names since there are some names that are longer than the name field (i.e. RainbwDash). I have also solidified the naming convention so it works with all of the characters. If there are any that you don't like please let me know. They are:

C = Costume; G = Gala; H = Hero(Harmony, CMC); N = Nightmare Night; W = Wonderbolt; Y = Youth; (name) = not youth or Hearths Warming

Technically we could skip the Y and name the youth versions the same as the older for those that want to skip the naming screen. I was surprised when I found you could not just rename them, so I was not happy having a harmony dash at level 52 named F DASH. Since I plan on having all the lowest evolution obtainable, this would help most gamers out that don't want to spend much time naming Ponymon. I plan to make this change before release, unless you disagree. What are your thoughts on the naming?

P.S I kind of miss the "You were all fooled", but I am more happy to see this project going again. :)

Next update version I want to call 0.5 because when using an internet search people tend to look for the latest number they can find in the search title. This also means naming a page "Ponymon Dawn/Dusk 0.5 Download" to get sort order preference.

There aren't any characters I'd want to add, and honestly I haven't watched the show for at least a year, so if there are any large new characters that would be worth adding tell me. I did end up adding my own character to the game, and she's obtainable on three island , from the three isle path to where the small patch of grass where dunsparce used to be. I think she's glitchy though, I didn't spend a lot of time making her and if you want to remove her or change her I'd be ok with that. If you'd want to keep her in that secret area and add your oc too I'd be fine with that as well. She's also part of the national dex and I think she replaces chimecho. I think I added a sign in the three isle path as well, but I don't remember what it says.

I think all of the names look good, except for youth it could just mean young instead. I'm alright with you calling it 0,5 as well. As for getting the demo game to me you could upload it to a website, google drive or the sort, and then give me a link to it through my tumblr that I can download. I'm happy to see this project going again too, and I love just how everyone assumes I'm a guy based on that if have "man" in my username.

Being an engineering type, I don't usually think about that type of assumption, however I loved your "fooled" statement, and got a huge kick out of others referring to Computerstickman as he or him. I purposely left it ambiguous when I referred to Computerstickman, and let them fall into it. :D

To me (engineer) young and youth are close enough that I usually use them interchangeably, but I do like the way "young" fits better now that you mention it.

Since I started working on the "busier" pages, we seem to be getting much more traffic. Before I started, it was usually about 300/wk on a busy week. We got a spike of over 1K hits on Jan 10 discounting more than what might have been me working on the wiki. Interesting at least...

Hey there!

Yo. it's been a long time since I've updated this thing huh? Well, I've seen comments about this game and if it's going to be worked on even longer. Well that answer is... I don't really know at the moment. At least I'm not going to be working on it right now, but over the summer possibly.

one thing that might have made me loose courage in this is the lack of enthusiasm for the game's new release. I know it's been a year or two since the update before mine came out, but i was hoping to get more feedback. I'm definitely not excluding those who have given feedback, but even though Iv'e reached out to several people who had played the game before, and Equestria Gaming, Iv'e had no response. I was hoping that if it was shown somewhere else more people would have seen it.

aside from that as well, the creation it'self is charming and fun to do, aside from the frustrating parts, and since I'm going in to more programming classes, I might work on another update!

I'm glad you're trying to keep this thing alive.  As the oldest surviving member of this wiki, Holder of the Most Edits, and Chief of the Smiley Thing Team, I feel the need to welcome you on the behalf of IWearHatsIndoors, Chaosfission, Amalvi, Firestorm, Sentient Sky, EvilProfOdor, and all of the other members that used to hang around here all those years ago.

Hold on a moment while I deal with the nostalgia of all those names.  It's just been so long!

What drew me here was your comment on whether your update was allowed on the main page, and I have to say that it is indeed the correct place for it, and I wish you the best of luck on your work.  If you ever need any help, I am the one to call on.  Since Hats, Chaos, and the old gang have abandoned the game, I'm the only one here that still knows their original plans, and more or less hold the "spirit" of the game close by.  Oh, such plans they had for it, and I know them all.

I originally misnamed this post, and should have added a question mark. I meant no offense in any of my posts or edits, etc, and certainly didn't want to upset Computerstickman especially.

I am still not currently opposed to making my project into a continuation of this one. At the rate I am going, I think I will be done with all my to do's except the "maybe later" stuff, tweaks, and beyond Ponydex entry 151 before February 2017. It maybe longer depending on how long the beginning discussion with Computerstickman takes. I do not want to rush her because it involves some major decisions and I want her to feel good about the choices she makes. If she changes her mind later, I plan to withdraw from the team and withdraw my work from the project in order to use it to resume my project. Of course the gamers will still have the right to use the content they already have at that time. Computerstickman asked to see the quality of my work, so I am preparing samples for her to see. Since I do not have any means to share my work I will be preparing samples to post here:Quality Samples

Ponymon Dawn/Dusk Admins/Owners Discussion

(I should point out if you read this, make sure to note that by "my project", "my ROM", or "my game" I mean by me and for me. If this becomes anything more I will state clearly what I intend to do, and It will have only data in it that I create, or the owner(s) already owns and posses) I am an engineer still at heart so if something seems off or long winded about what I say, I apologize. I am trying to summarize this where possible. Please be patient with me and read carefully.

I am really excited to hear from you. Thank you for contacting me. Since I still think of my project as separate I will also separate them in my response. Sorry, I am lumping the teams notes, ideas and anything that is not the part of the game play programming (all the text, stats, pics, etc.) together by calling it data. I will also refer to your ROM as 0.4 since that is the latest revision as listed on the home page. Please don't assume that I plan to use any of your data other than on my devices or for myself without your blessing. When I figured out what others did with your data, it turned my stomach probably as much as it did yours.

My Project:

I realized after I wrote those messages, that 0.4 was the last "official", and Discord-drocsid was not affiliated. I had a bunch of info to pour over that might be more important to you, so I did not get to edit those as soon as I wanted. When I went to the “fresh ROM” restart for my project, I saved myself a lot of debugging, by extracting data in the location order, and manner, as explained below. In effect I only used the data to modify the Firered data. I analyze all the data from the releases I have available when I start each section (regardless of where it came from) and followed an algorithm for selection. First the site, then the ROMs, then I analyzed what was done before to fill in the remaining holes. What I was hoping for, was just more data from your team to improve my feel of how it came up with what it did. Then, I could analyze the latest data your team created and use it to help analyze the holes, and program my spreadsheets to help fill in the holes with results closer to what your team would have. Except dialog and graphics, I can change any thing in any section I have worked on by dropping new data in my tables, and doing a full or partial dump. Text that has been reorganized has a standard size and place,so all I have to do is dump the characters in or out like I did with the moves listed below or directly type it in with my hex editor. The reorganized graphics locations have been standardized to optimize space, speed and ease of adding. In handling the data in this manner, I have been able to play seamlessly through my updates without loosing my progress.

Differences from your 0.4 to mine so far:

3 move names (1 PREALPHA – POUND; JUMP KICK - HI JUMP KICK; DREAM EATER - DREAMSTEALER)

I Filled in data as needed in places that did not deviate from Firered or was the 0.4's equivalent of not worked flag. Then fixed the data that caused glitches.

Fixed all the battle sprites that used the transparent color as part of the picture, then filled in the rest.

Map appearance changes but not path of travel to make the lower routes look more like what you would see if following the Equestria Map(s).

Some map names to match that map.

Of the data currently between ROMs is following the same guidelines as listed above.

Except for the map sprites and the Unowns, I have already removed the non-Ponymon and pointed to the ?? sprites to make a clean space for the new pony sprites. They have been or will be replaced until the new ones are shuffled in.

So far the only data I used seems to have skipped around the changes between your 0.4 and the “others”0.4.1, and saved me adjusting my tables (not that it would take long).

I never intended to share my project outside of my friends and family, and would only share it here, if at all, in order to try to revive the project. Even then, I will only do so after I reach the point that it is completely “Ponified” (Sprites, Dialogs, Names), and will only if I am sure if it will end up on this site as an official update to yours.

Your Project:

I would like to explain about me saying my project “might” become a continuation of this. What I mean is if everything runs the way I would feel good about helping. I would offer my ROM since it is free of data that does not belong to your team excepting data I created, and the use of my tables to fill it. If I am accepted as co-owner(they call it bureaucrat) and admin I would feel much better about it. You MUST get bureaucrat status for reasons I will explain when you do, unless you already know.

This Site:

I was hoping you especially would come back and get it going, or we if you want my help. Even if you handed the whole thing over, I would need to find a project team (Web mostly), and as a past team leader in engineering I know how hard it is to find someone you can trust and rely on. I would really appreciate if you become owner or co-owner. You MUST get bureaucrat status. If I am co-owner I will help any way I can with my leadership skills, and as stated under the “Your Project:” above. If not I will do the best I can to help you get it going again and give you as many suggestions as I can. You know little about me, but with what I learned as a leader, I noticed what I needed to know about your dedication and feelings for your project that tells me you would not be happy parting with any of it. If you do not have tools to get bureaucrat status with the site tools you have, please tell me ASAP.

This is too long already, and I had so much more that I wanted to add. I must say that with the stats I saw, this has more than a fighting chance at substantially growing again.

I will now leave it to you to decide what you want to do with this website. Please do not take long to get back with me (for several reasons)

I do appreciate your enthusiasm for this project and to see it be revived again, along with the rest of the fans, but honestly I'm not really up to taking up this project again. It's been two years since I last worked on this and I'm more focused on personal things right now, and I also just lack the motivation to really get back into it. I might get some motivation later, but I'm in a bit of a rough patch right now. When I was talking about helping, I was only talking about small things, like with sprites and with ideas possibly. Also, I think that we use very different methods to create this romhack, as I used a multitude of rom-hacking programs to change certain aspects of the game, and I think that you're using something way more complicated. It might not work out well if we use both at the same time, it might clash and end up causing problems, although I'm not exactly sure what you're using. In terms of a team to find if I hand this project over to you, there have been people in the past who were willing to help when I wasn't working on the project anymore. I'm not sure if you could contact those people, or see if new people would be willing to help, I would, of course. As for the bureaucrat status goes, I'm not sure it's really necessary. I've been on this website for years now and I haven't needed it then so I don't think I need it now. I'm still thinking about what I should do in terms of passing it down, but you can keep working on it and I'll wait for your response.

First and foremost I expect anyone working on this game or website to make sure it does not interfere with their family, job or happiness. This project is for a game and its supporting web community and should be prioritized as such.

I would mostly like you to be around to:

  1. Keep some of the continuity to the project, even If it is only for the appearance at first. I think if you see the steps I plan to take and how I want to do it, you might gain interest in this project again.
  2. Contact Marioland since you had a working relationship with him before, and ask if he would at least be a regular again. I found Marioland at https://www.fimfiction.net/user/Marioland1 and would like you to see if he would come back and help like he did before. I would also like to see if he would reconsider taking admin status even if only by name.
  3. Move the downloads to a separate downloads page. I would like a somewhat eye-catching larger font "Downloads/Updates" link on the Home page for downloads. I would like you to convert the page Discord-drocsid made by putting the 0.4.1 link in a separate section and clearly stating that Is not "official" but we are keeping the link at least till we decide what to do with it. I suggest summarizing, removing or restating what Discord said to shorten that section. I can help word it if you like.
  4. Handle the download packaging and posting. This is something I kinda need you for, since I do not have the means to do this, and you have shown you do. This is the part I have never done nor do I want to go through the trouble to set it up. Please consider doing this part, because I want someone to do this that I know has done so and has done it right.
  5. Look in on the website say about once a week to make sure it is being properly maintained, and to see if I have any questions.
  6. Any type of contribution that you want to add. Just let me know what it is and I will make sure it can be done without running into clashes

I plan on adopting this site naming you co-owner/admin and me co-owner/admin. I will not force you to participate at all except what you feel like contributing. I would like to have you around to weigh things that I would like suggestions on. I really want to hear about any idea you come up with. If you want to contribute to scripting or anything else I believe I can easily ensure that there will be no clashes. Unless you object to this part by that time, I plan on applying for the site adoption on Friday. We can change the details of this after it goes through.

I would like to make future releases/updates into various patches to avoid any gray areas of software ownership that I do not yet understand. This will keep the project out of those gray areas if it should become big enough to bear such scrutiny. I would like to make these patches to be independent sections of the ROM so other people can easily chose to do the changes they wish. For example we would start of with a patch to reorganize the original ROM (FR1.0, FR1.1, etc.) to prepare it to receive the update patches. and at the same time release the ponies update. I could look into writing a macro to reorganize Dawn 0.4.0 as well if it makes sense to.

I believe by even releasing an update macro for HexEdit with detailed instructions, and a "data file" containing the pony data I have now, that gamers would start getting excited about this again. There were nearly 1000 views of the Main page in the last 4 weeks alone, and I would like to assume many would quickly take notice of any progress.

Please tell me parts you agree with or disagree with as you decide. Since for some reason the site does not tell me when you reply on your talk page, you might let me know to check it on my talk page.

Alright, I agree with most of what you've said and done so far, and I can do most of what you've asked. On the terms of contacting Marioland, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to do so. I'm pretty sure he's moved on from this project and I wouldn't want to bring him back onto it if he doesn't want to. We didn't really have a sort of "relationship" either, I just told him what I did for the romhack and asked him about a couple things from what I remember. I'm just not really sure about contacting him myself, but if you want to go ahead since you're the main person working on this now, go ahead. About everything else, I can make a downloads page and host them, but I think keeping a link to the latest download on the homepage would also make things easier. I've been checking in on the wiki at least every month for the past year or years, so i don't think that will be a problem.

On another note, from what I've seen you've made quite a lot of progress and of quality too. I think the route that I'd like to take would be to give you the main game to work on, but I would still work on some things if I needed to and collaborate with the wiki and with ideas. I would still like to see how the game plays, as kind of a beta tester too, if you have something like that working. If not, I understand. If I can get these romhacking programs off my old computer and onto my current one, I might try working with them again and re-learning how to use them.

I hope my avatar looks OK. I don't think it looks as good pixelated. I asked my family, but they seem to think everything I show them looks good. I think once it gets a cutie mark it will be my ponification and my first pony OC. Did you have in mind to put your Crystal Song sprite in the game? or maybe both of our ponification OC's?

A working relationship, to me and those I have ever worked with, means even sharing information as you described, but I think I misunderstood how established it was. Sorry, I guess that was an engineer thing again.

Do you have some way I can send my game to you? You can comment on this on SchedulePlansEtc under "Data Sharing". I have a limited understanding of dropbox but that is the limit of my file sharing knowledge, and the only person I share with set it up on my phone and computer so I could just use it.

I started a SchedulePlansEtc page to list any schedule or game plans or discussion of changes. This is to let you know some of what I am thinking, doing, wanting to schedule or whatever comes to mind. Feel free to do the same with it. I do not plan on using the comments at the bottom because they tend to get too long to go through after a while. I would like to keep to the Ponymon Dawn/Dusk site for team collaboration/communication if possible.

I plan to continue documentation of the Quality Samples page for my own benefit and for the techies that are interested in my programing style.

I will be adding a list of the programs I found and use to SchedulePlansEtc. I will also comment on them to share what my experience was with them in case it helps. I recommend getting all new downloads since some of the ones that were around then and even now had bugs or even viruses. I looked into each program for compatibility, bugs and even security/viruses before I used them.

I made a page on what I did for ponymon 0.4 (that I mis-labeled as ponymon 4.0) that has everything I did from what I remember except for adding overworld sprites for the ponies. For the new ponymon added to the game I made sprites, edtied their data as of moves and stats and such, and edited ponydex entries. As for after I haven't done anything to the game.

Ponymon Names and Stuff

Hi, I rather miss talking to you, and hope you are doing well.

I didn't get any negative feedback from the posted Ponymon names so I added them to the Regional Ponydex, Generation II Ponydex and Generation III Ponydex. I also replaced Crackle with N Angel. I cannot tell if you have been keeping an eye on things, but if you have been out for a while, the names can now be reviewed on these Ponydex listings much easier than on the Ponymon Names page. Please let me know what you think about the character choices.

I believe I can now relate to what you went through working on this alone. I tried to talk others into small tasks and failed miserably. :) I am going to start listing things that others can do around the wiki to help make this faster and easier for me. I may just set up the pages leaving the data for others to find and fill. The info on how to find the data and ini's for the tools will be in the Update Package of course.

I just finished the PonydexData fields and dumped them into the ROM. PlayerY, EnemyY, EnemyAltitude, and PonydexData will need adjusted as the final sprites, or sprite changes, are added. I would like to complete the Ponymon Types, Catch Locations and partial completion of some other stuff before assessing how much I would like to do before making an update package. At this rate I think moving the scripting and dialog changes from 0.4 will be on 0.5.1 when I work on that stuff. After that it will probably be on to beta testing, data tweaks, and patches for other Base ROM's.

Hey! I hope you've been doing well too, and I have been checking the wiki now and again for what's been updated and such. I'm glad to see that all this progress has been made, and if there's anything I can do to help with the game please tell me. I've been thinking about doing some sprites, although I'm not sure what you need done. As for the ponymon choices, I like a lot of what you have, as for putting in all the family members of the mane six and such. But there are a couple things (and sorry if I missed them before) that I think could be changed. These are suggestions, and if you've already done work on them I wouldn't want that work to go to waste, but do what you want to.

The lunar and solar guards, what I think what the original team wanted to do, was to have a general young guard and have it evolve to either a lunar or solar guard based on sun/moon stones, or possibly by some other method. I feel like prince blueblood should just have two evolutions, young blueblood and regular blueblood, what I think is already in the game. I think the princesses should have a young evolution, and a princess evolution. Celestia doesn't have a counterpart to luna's nightmare moon evolution, so you could also keep celestia's evolution chain of young to celestia to princess celestia, and have luna's middle evolution be her other form as seen in the second episode of the series. Nightmare Moon could be a separate ponymon or an evolution specific to Luna. As for the other dexes, I'm not quite sure about them, since they're not in the main game.

Sorry about the length again.

Since I dug into the ROM at the data level and compared it to the base ROM, you can probably guess that I noticed the plans that were far enough to show signs of being worked in the workfile. I found more information from other resources when I made a further search of the internet, but I think I might have only scratched the surface after pouring through it a while. I appreciate the politeness that you write with in a way that helps if (I feel like I am more prone to "when") I have missed something. I hope for and encourage you to continue this kind of valuable input keeping in mind that I have or will miss something or make mistakes. I also hope you will give feedback since I value your input as a "sanity check". I do understand, however, that it is quite time consuming to contribute to these discussions. Though I might not further mention it, I greatly appreciate your effort to do so.

I am exited to hear you would like to sprite. I have been working on the list of sprites that are needed, that are made but could/should be modified, and that are completed. I should be posting the list in the next 24_hrs with a request to consider helping to complete the new sprites first. The most recent wiki change is the addition of the Wiki Help Suggestions and Tasks page. This along with the suggestions blog will have a link to this list.

All the mentioned changes have been implemented, but this is not a major reason to me for favoring the changes. Over all, I feel the same way about the Blueblood and Princess Celestia additions as you do, and will reverse them if I see an opportunity to do so without adding a catch or stone evolution elsewhere while keeping the sectioning intact. It was incredibly easy to fill the gaps this way and no other solution has presented itself yet. The biggest complaints on self contained games are catch number required and/or evolution effort. While experience required to level can easily be reduced, adding to level evolution stacks where possible while balancing required experience goes a long way to reduce the tedium and gamer frustration often associated with this sort of ROM mod.

(I separated and numbered below for easier reference)

Lunar and Solar Guards: There was only a level up from Young Guard to Solar Guard, and moon stone evolution from the Solar Guard to Lunar Guard in the ROM. I want this game to be self contained for those who want to complete the Ponydex and don't want the hassle of trading between different games or cheating to do so. Even though it adds one catch to the guards, it replaces a single evolution catch elsewhere, and spares a stone to use elsewhere. I separated the Y Lunar Guard out for two main reasons. 1)The use of the stones (especially Moon stones) were getting a little heavy as I looked through the game and was filling in the gaps. I am considering adding optional stone evolutions between the guards, but I am unsure about doing so since it might push the ability for those not using cheats to get enough stones to complete the Dex. The evolutions are really easy to coordinate at a glance with the tables and can be applied easily at any time. 2)I was working to reduce the number of catches required to fill the Ponydex.

Blueblood: 1)This was an opportunity to add a level type evolution to help reduce catches and stone evolutions. 2)It greatly reduced effort to organize Ponydex sections while fitting well with the reorganization of the entries to reach the end of the Regional Ponydex with the intention of making a separation of Ponydex sections at that point.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna: (DITTO Blueblood) 1)This was an opportunity to add a level type evolution to help reduce catches and stone evolutions. 2)It greatly reduced effort to organize Ponydex sections while fitting well with the reorganization of the entries to reach the end of the Regional Ponydex with the intention of making a separation of Ponydex sections at that point.

Legendaries: In order to make the game self contained, I fear/assume legendaries will be affected or non existent at least for now.

I know what you mean. I am still thinking of how to use living characters instead. Parasprites have come the closest to replace them, but would quickly become difficult to visibly differentiate after a couple to few color variations that I might be able to squeeze in. One problem I ran into with using creatures is they would all end up looking somewhat similar, mostly differentiated with physical variations. They all use the same pallet. The Unowns get away with using a single pallet because they all look like they were cast from the same material. In the game they are in ancient ruins leading me to think of ancient advanced technology. I was thinking of some sort of an ancient symbolic looking set of "devices" possibly A.I. or enchanted with earth, pegasus, and unicorn magic. It would make for a believable, direct, convincing replacement of the Unowns. I don't really care to use the English or FiM alphabet, but I would favor more organic, and ancient looking symbols like these that I have already received permission to use from the creator. It is also believable they would share the same Types and moves because they share the same properties and purpose. So far this is the only plausible alternative I have seen that works with the limitations that the ROM imposes. So the limitations so far is single pallet, single BaseStat field, Single Dex field, Single Dex Text entry, Single Moveset, Single Ponymon Name, single Icon pallet. There may be another alternative so we'll keep looking, but I think the alphabet at that link looks best so far. Let me know what you find or think of. It is good to see you active again. I hope you are doing well. In case you didn't see, Chaosfission dropped by. He said the update page was interesting, but he was just passing through.

I would like keep the artwork to the Ponymon themselves and original artwork. When you get a chance, could you upload an update of the N Dinky artwork without the background and adjust the coloring to match the sprite for daylight coloring. That would work better with the guidelines. I am going with original artwork to keep our project and community all original, to keep continuity to the look of the pages, to encourage the community artistic abilities, and to keep from using outside sources. I am letting you know so you can help keep watch for these things as thing get active. I am excited that the momentum is already increasing, and at some point I will need more help guiding the community to keep a cohesive look to the soon to be 600+ pages. Soon I plan to make a list of things to look for on a team page. I would deeply appreciate your help with this. You don't have to let me know nor even commit to it, but I will let you know when I post the list. When people feel obligated it is not as fun.

Type Icons for version 0.5

Just wanted to say hi. :D I hope you are doing well.

You might find the recently added data tables interesting (See the .ods files on category:Data). Kawagiri and I have been working on editing the data for the game in spreadsheets. I have uploaded much of the data and started use instructions in them for future use with this project. The files have decoding and encoding to easily read, edit and compare data at a glance. They also include inport export instructions. Later, the tables will have all information and instructions needed to implement them individually for any FR/LG ROM base mod. :D

We worked on the new Type Icons for clarity and some colorblindness issues. I used to do stuff like that often at a previous job. :)

You probably noticed the major Map overhaul. I guess it speaks for itself (See Locations). It is not done, but it is well on its way.

With making All Ponymon obtainable, I included the National Dex expansion in the Ponydex that Oak gives near the beginning. That alleviates many of the issues that many ROM hacks see from making them all available.

I still haven't included the dialog changes from before :( , but I will add it back in sections after I finish the planning for the current ROM Reorg.

It looks like you could use a User Talk Archive. If you would like help, I could set it up for you like I have for other members. You can use mine as a template if you would like to do so.

I was thinking of putting Equestria Girl type OMSprites on the map for our OC's. It would be several frames depending on which OMSprites were replaced. I was thinking of putting Crystal Song in her original location but as an interactive sprite with a short dialog. It would take some pallet coordination that would be worth trying.

Hello again! I'm not doing so well right now, but I'm pushing through till summer arrives! I'm amazed to see all the work that you've done so far with this, even though I haven't done too much myself. The type icons look pretty much ok for me, except for the music one. I can see what you were trying to do with it, but it took me a bit to figure out what it was saying. Maybe only have the m be the music note, since s, i and c don't seem to translate very well into the music notes.

Another thing I would like to add, is that I know you're trying to change every pokemon into a ponymon, and I know you've had some trouble with some of them, like unknown. I feel like you could leave some out if you needed to, because all of the pokemon in the game that you can find without trading from another game is enough for the original pokemon game. You can't find every pokemon in the original firered and leafgreen games, you have to trade to get most of them. I would say that having a lot more ponymon to find would be cooler, but I would say not to worry if you can't get all of them in, or ones that don't work and such.

With the user talk thing, I can get that more organized later, I've been pretty busy this week and I have a lot to do, so when I can get to it I will.

For the overworld sprites, if that's what we're going to do, I'd rather use my character computerstickman, or compman, as that instead. I feel like it represents me better than my pony, and I've also changed her design now to be blue instead of pink to represent me, and compman is also my icon that I'm currently using.

I'm sorry about the tough times. I feel I have had more than my share of those on a regular basis, but I hope what I do is encouraging to you and others. Hurry Summer!!! :D Don't worry about Ponymon, it will be here when and as you are ready for it. Your contributions are more than just what goes directly into the ROM and have been helpful and/or influenced what has been done many times already. I feel you have contributed nicely. When I started looking into Ponymon I was looking to nudge it back into motion and help out, but I am happy with how things have turned out so far.

I really don't expect or care if any of the graphics I do stays permanently in the game. My goal is to inspire other's creativity while leaving things in that will make them think "I can improve that" to lure them to participate. I expected comments specifically about "Music", and have already been rewarded by both sides of the comments I was hoping to get from it without asking. :D I am purposely leaving things usable but incomplete so others can easily contribute. I want this project to always be open to improvements.

The "all Ponymon entries" thing started out as something that was in the background in the ROM, here, the tumblr, and wherever the old crew meandered. I picked up where it left off to see where it went. I quickly ran out of entries to add MLPs, and had quite a bit of an overrun list. Holly Dash was one of several favorites on the list, so I was excited to see you post her on the sprite page. I haven't had any real trouble with any of the Ponymon since I can easily use believable but arbitrary data and locations that will work. I had planned to leave some PNMN out, but the 386 Max was easily spread around and worked out nicely. My questions are usually me trying to lure others to make suggestions. :) I Usually have a solution or two by the time I ask questions, so it is usually to see which direction others would prefer, or to see if there is another direction they would like that I could explore, without providing cookie cutter choices to easily default to.

I saw ideas about what to do with the Unowns by past team members, and already had a couple of feasible plans when I asked, but wanted to see if you had ideas, plans, or expectations before proceeding. I have figured out how to solve all of the issues that others have encountered with wanting to use them. I have tested it enough to find that the only thing I don't really think is worth messing with is the deeper coding that controls which ones are available at each location. They are basically stuck inside the ruins in the same condition and distribution that they were for FireRed. I feel game and code wise they are out of place if not as something odd and ancient. It is more work to remove them and related stuff than to use them. I know what I would like to do with them and how to do so, but I am leaving them "open" in case someone comes up with something creative that works with or can be made to work with the ROM. I was amazed to see how far the programmers went with something that was basically only programmed to be usable as collectors items.

The User Talk thing is not really important, but wanted to let you know I can easily help set it up. No hurry.

I love it, it is amazing. I like how you changed everything. The coat looks better this way and the hair looks beautiful, the wings look so real too. I just love how it looks in general. On my picture it is hard to see there is sparkly mist around the strawberry, but I love the ice crystals idea. It is so awesome!!!!!!!

Okay, I this time around I heavily re-designed them, and I really like how they turned out. Although, I realized moonlight frost was a he way too late....

Well, anyways, you can see all the changes I made to them, more to moonlight than lavender. I made moonlight's mane to resemble crecent moons, and changed both of their manes to something other than just straight hair. I actually really like these characters and how I made them look, could I possibly use them for something myself? Or maybe change their designs a bit and then use them. I made moonlight a she on accident, so I could just make another and keep this one.

Ooookay, I made the male moonlight. I didn't explain all of the changes when I should have, whoops.

Well, on Lavender I changed her cutie mark to what real lavender looks like, and added the ice/frost on it like Strawberry. I changed her colors to be a bit more blue/lavender-ish, and the eye color to green to stand out. I made her just a pegasus because having everyone be alicorns (I think you're using them in a story right?) is mary sue-ish, so Lavender is a pegasus, and Moonlight is a unicorn. I think it fits them quite well, from my view at least.

On Moonlight, his eyes are both blue, but one is more grey and the other is just light blue. The crescent moon idea is still there, just in smaller parts of his mane. Made the white more dull, and added blue and purple hues to his colors so that it all works together well. And you've already noticed what I did with the cutie mark.

For me using them, it's proably the best I don't use these, since making these gave me the idea to make oc designs and either give them to people or sell them. Since they are based off your ideas, it's not my place to do that. I might use the idea of the crecents on the mane for something else though.

He is so awesome! When I draw it takes me soo long. That was super fast. When we were looking at him, my son (Moonlight Frost) said "Moons are awesome!" Thank you again. :) If you want, you can use them as examples of what you have done for others. Maybe like a family photo advertisement with the whole Frost family (I noticed she didn't go with Oak Strawberry likes to draw them for the sake of drawing OCs. So far she is using them in her personal journal stories and to make her own personal version of Pokemon that she is calling "Berrymon". She is using the tools that I am making and/or using for this project. I told her the same about the alicorn overload, except I used the terms variety and genetic likelihood. :) She likes to draw creatures that are a mix of ponies and other animals. I particularly like her creatures that appear to be a mix of ponies and wolfs. Amaya, the princess of these is blind, and is the main character of one of the stories. It is called "Blind Life", and is from her perspective as she writes about her experiences around the time of her birthday and imminent marriage.

You do excellent work and have an awesome style. I think you will do well with your OCs for others thing.

About two months ago I checked your Youtube uploads resulting in becoming a big fan of Owl City. Shortly after I found out that Strawberry was already a fan. XD From there I collected a large Youtube playlist of Christian PMV's to get me in the groove of working on Ponymon. :D

Well, drawing just takes a lot of practice and time, something you've probably heard a lot. I've been drawing ponies for 5 years I think, and that's how I can draw them well and draw them fast, cause I've drawn them a lot. I was thinking of using these as examples if someone would like me to re-design their oc, like I've done here, and have this type of thing open for commissions. Or maybe someone could give me a general idea and I can make a character out of that.

But anyways, I like all the ideas and the creativity Strawberry has! I myself love creating stories and characters too, and I'm wanting to make them into something someday. And thank you!! I would love to make ocs, and really just do commissions in general, but I don't think I have enough of a "following" for people to actually want one. It is what I'd really love to in the future, along with making video games and selling art along with other things I make. I also really like Owl City, I like a lot of their songs, but I loved them even more a year ago when I posted the video. XD

I'm still glad you and everyone else likes the drawings I make, I have fun making them too!
